We Can’t Always Overcome Every Problem

Joanna Vanhoove’s experience with Austin Window Fashions started off beautifully, but she had a real problem in the end.

Joanna was remodeling her house and needed all new window treatments.  She had shopped around a little, but found the knowledge lacking at some of the bigger box stores.  “I was just not that impressed with the quality of the materials or the knowledge at some of the other places,” she explained.  “So I went with my friend’s recommendation and tried Austin Window Fashions.”

She went into the showroom and was greeted by Tara Kulvicki, who got right to work figuring out what was needed for the remodel.  The main area Joanna was focused on was what she calls “The Big Room.”  Joanna said, “It’s just huge!  It’s really the size of two rooms and has this huge picture window that looks out on my back yard.”  She needed something that would block the heat, but also allow her to see her treasured plants and flowers.

“I just love my yard!  I have Begonias, Teardrop Plants, Cannas, Iris, Oakleaf Hydrangea, Lily of the Nile…I could go on and on.  I spend hours in that yard.”

Joanna liked the look of Plantation Shutters and thought that might be the way to go in her Big Room.  However, Tara explained that because the window was so large, if she chose Plantation Shutters, they would have to have a T-post down the center.  Without that support, the heavy shutters would eventually begin to sag.  Joanna knew that was not what she wanted – neither a view blocked by a T-post nor sagging shutters.

“I so appreciated her honesty and knowledge.  She helped me walk through all the specifics so I could make the best decision,” Joanna said.

Joanna completed the rest of the windows in her home over the course of several installments.  Tara helped her plan out all that she would need so that when she had saved up a little more for another section, all she had to do was contact Tara and they would proceed.  “Tara was never pushy.  She simply asked if she could contact me when they were having a promotion to find out if I was ready again,” she explained.

“Tara was so nice, so cordial, so courteous.  She was patient and spent a lot of time with me.  No question I asked was a stupid one.  She was willing to work with my schedule to come out and do the measurements.  I just cannot say enough good things about my experience with them.”

These stained custom plantation shutters perfectly match the wood floors and make for a cozy place to relax.Tara felt the same way about Joanna.  She said, “I loved working with Joanna! Her windows were a fun challenge in selecting the right product and she was such a kind soul and so easy to work with.”

But then came the problem, which has so far been insurmountable.

Joanna lamented, “I ran out of windows!  I told her I wish I had more windows just so we could keep working together to get them covered!”

Alas, a window coverings issue that Austin Window Fashions just can’t overcome.
